  8. you are typing your text into the wrong window.  if correctly connected you will have 
  9. two windows, the command window (the one you are using now) and  the  chat
  10. window (type /list in the command line and the available chat areas will come up, double
  11. click on the one you want, and type away)
  12.  
  13. remember that some commands go in the chat window (ie: /whois <nick>) and some 
  14. go in the command window (ie: /list, /who, etc)  there are also commands
  15. specific to winirc (ie: /awhois, /beep) that go in the chat window
  16.  
  17. make sure there are no spaces in your nick (held up a friend of mine)

  34. We're having a problem with Sun Select PC-NFS running an SMTP daemon we
  35. wrote. After dealing successfully with one connection, it refuses all
  36. further attempts to connect to it. The daemon works fine on all other
  37. Winsock stacks we've tried. Anyone out there have any experience with this
  38. sort of problem? Thanks,
